C2O Library is pleased to organize a hand-made postcard exhibition, Postcards from Bookworms, an ongoing community art project where people mail in their recommendation, experience, secrets, etc. that is related to a book of their choice.  It can be your favourite book, the book you’ve just finished reading, the book you just received in your mailbox, anything.  It will be your personal re-interpretation and re-telling of the book.

Example:

Visual interpretation of The Periodic Table (Primo Levi). Concept: Butawarna. Photography & baking whiz: Erlin Goentoro.

Note:  The text does not have to be separated from the visual.

All postcards will be on display at C2O library from April 23-30, 2011 to celebrate the World Book Day on April 23, 2011.  See the number of postcards grow, mix and match, or create some on the spot.  All submissions will also be compiled into a PDF anthology under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.

Submission requirements:

Artists, writers, friends, children, anyone from all disciplines and backgrounds from around the world are eligible to participate in this non-juried exhibition, with any media they feel most comfortable with: photography, mixed media, illustration, comic, et cetera.

Standard postcard size A6: 105mmx148mm.  From April onwards, blank postcard templates and a craft kit are also available at C2O if you’d like to create some postcards on the spot!  Don’t forget to bring in some drawing/colouring/craft tools of your choice.

Deadline for 1st round: April 22, 2011
